Moleskine unveils new collection of cases called Shells.

Moleskine is certainly thinking outside of the box with their carrying case series. Last year, we were shocked to see the notebook company branching out into pens, pencils, bags and even reading glasses.

This year, Moleskine is giving us Moleskine Shells, a collection of multi-purpose semi-hard cases. Each case has a zipper to close it up with an elastic band on the inside to secure your items.

The cases come in sizes from small to large. The small cases are designed to house objects like your smartphone and has a slot for you headphones and a loop to attach to the handles of your bag.

The large Shells are better suited for items like an e-reader or tablet.

Each will be available in three colors: orange, turquoise and classic black.

See below for a video of an eight-bit character named Pix describe these Shells.

Creators of Pen Type-A reveal pocket pen, Pen Type-B, in Jetpens interview

The Jetpens blog posted a recent interview of CW&T, the creators of the Pen Type-A. In the interview, they revealed their inspiration behind stainless steel casing for the Pilot Hi-Tec-C ink cartridge. They also revealed their next project appropriately called Pen Type-B.

All we know is that the Pen Type-B will be a pocket pen as opposed to the desk pen that Type-A was. Right now, however, CW&T’s main concern is fulfilling the Kickstarter orders for Type-A.

You can read the interview found on the Jetpens blog from the source link below.

As usual, Penbound will keep you informed of any more details.

Moleskine introduces the Chocolate Journal.

No, it’s not edible — it’s a journal for chocolate lovers.

Following in the roots of the Moleskine passions journals, the Chocolate Journals gives chocolate aficionados a place to keep track of their recipes, tastings, events and addresses (so you can find that truffle shop you visited last month). There’s also some blank pages, a spot for notes, photos and drawings.

The notebook also includes 200 adhesive labels to easily indicate which of your tastings was the “finest ever!”.

The Chocolate Journal joins with the 2012 Passions lineup, which already includes Home Life, Restaurant, Art and Beer journals.

You can buy it now for $20 at the Moleskine store.

Sun-Star Stickyle is yet another pocketable pair of scissors.

Much like the KUM Pencut, the Sun-Star Stickyle is a pair of scissors designed to fold away into a neat pen-size. What the Stickyle has over the Pencut is the spring-loaded grip and a neater, minimal streamline capped design. And it’s cheaper, too.

You can pick one up at the stationery Mecca Jetpens for $8.25 in white, black, blue and pink.

P1 by Premier is a Kickstarter to give the Pilot Hi-Tec-C yet another body.

Ah, Kickstarter. You make it so easy to find wonderful projects and products-in-the-making - and pens are no exception.

Everyone loves the Pilot Hi-Tec-C, but they also cannot stand the cheap plastic design. Thanks to Premier, we will see yet another body design to match the lovely Pen Type-A (we’re still waiting for ours - no pressure, cw&t!). And just like the Pen Type-A, the only way to get one at this time is to back the project over at Kickstarter.

Machine-milled from a solid block of aluminum, the P1 will come in five types: raw, silver, black, red and a Kickstarter only green.

If you want one, you’d better back them soon: there’s only 29 days left to back Premier and get these pens at the low price of $25 for the raw and $40 for the black or silver. If you want the red or green, you’ll have to buy the bundle, ranging from $110 to $150.

Or you can try your luck to win one from Brad Dowdy’s The Pen Addict P1 review.

Good luck and happy backing!

Pilot Symmetry pen and pencil discontinued.
We have learned via Jetpens’ official Twitter that Pilot has decided to discontinue their Pilot Symmetry ballpoint line.
As the name suggests, the pen was famous for its beautiful symmetrical design.
Along with the design, the pen also featured an “Initial Ring” in the center, allowing the user to customize their pen with a single letter from the alphabet.
The Symmetry was available in six different colors and featured oil-based ink with a 0.7 mm ballpoint tip.
The Pilot Symmetry was also available in mechanical shaker pencil form that used 0.5 mm lead.
If you had wanted this pen, you had better pick it up quickly - there’s only a few more left on Jetpens. A few of the shaker pencil versions can be bought from Jstationery.com.
