New Moleskine pens, bags, glasses and books revealed
Last month, Patrick Ng had revealed Moleskine’s move outside of notebooks and into writing utensils, bags and glasses with a series of product sketches. Today, these products have officially been revealed.
Ng has attended the Moleskine Trade Show, showing the very first images of Moleskine’s latest products on his blog.
The image above is the Moleskine pen. The pen’s body is entirely black and a square-ish design with a rubberized metal clip that fastens securely on the corner of your notebook. Ng explains the cap is very secure on the notebook and that there is no need to remove the cap - simply pull out the pen and begin writing.
Pen tips will be available in 0.5 mm and 0.7 mm with six different gel ink colors available: black and brilliant blue for the 0.5 mm and black, brilliant blue, bright green, bright red, deep violet and dark brown for the 0.7 mm tips. The ink is specifically designed for writing on Moleskine paper and each pen comes with adhesive labels to differentiate each pen for the variety of ink colors available.
The Moleskine pencil has the appearance of a black carpenter’s pencil and includes 2 pencils, a sharpener and a cap in a package. Made of cedar wood, the pencil is stuffed with 2B graphite lead with a 3 mm tip.
Ng also provides pictures of the new reading glasses, book lights and a video montage of everything - including the bags - but concludes that he will need much more time with these products before he can give any sort of review. Regardless, he does comment that “they all look handsome and smart.”
He also dives into Moleskine’s box sets which, more or less, includes a notebook with a related product boxed inside, depending on the box’s theme.
Writing Set: 1 ruled notebook, 1 pen + cap
Drawing Set: 1 sketch notebook, 2 pencils + cap and sharpener
